We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Accounting Manager to work under the direction of the Senior Manager, supporting the development and coordination of all corporate accounting functions for land games (including including Cgaming), including daily tasks. – daily accounting, month-end and year-end activities, according to the needs of the various internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring that the principles of sound financial reporting processes and internal controls are respected.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Attached to the Sr Manager Accounting, you will be required to:
Support the team’s recurring month-end financial responsibilities to ensure all tasks are completed on time and accurately, while focusing on improving process automation and efficiency by providing advice and guidance as needed. These include, but are not limited to, income, expenses and accrued liabilities, financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and the review and resolution of material discrepancies in statements. financial.
Lead the team’s preparation of accurate and timely working papers and financial reports to enable the year-end audit, working with the Senior Manager to ensure all deliverables are met. Provide support to the team on various year-end issues and, if required, be the first-level reviewer on all applicable working papers.
Provide advice and guidance on implementing process improvement efficiencies, including the use of data and analytics, and robotic process automation, with a focus on increasing productivity. accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and maximizing value to the Province of Ontario.
Provide guidance to the team to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are in place to ensure the accuracy of entries in the company’s general ledger; ensure adherence to sound internal control principles, including the Department of Finance Internal Control Framework and Memorandum of Understanding and other applicable departmental directives
Work with internal business partners, OLG department heads and external parties to review and provide financial information and recommendations on various trends and comparisons, metrics, access to information requests, service agreements/contracts – frameworks, procurement documents, interpretation and guidance of contract language and other ad hoc inquiries as required
Assist the team in preparing the service provider fee calculation (over $2 billion per year), including allowed capital charges, and associated financial reconciliations, ensuring that the service provider meets its contractual obligations; provide guidance and training to service providers on various contractual requirements and, when required, be the first level reviewer.
Provide advice and support to the team regarding land game service provider contracts and their interpretation.
Prepare the calculations of the various obligations of the company’s external stakeholders such as; municipal commissions, contribution to winnings, charitable payments and contractual obligations of the Resort Casino (Total stakeholders approximately 500 million) and, if necessary, be the first level examiner
Participate in ad-hoc projects, strategic initiatives by assisting/reviewing business requirements development, overseeing user acceptance testing and providing subject matter expertise
Provide guidance on compiling and summarizing sensitive payment information in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders, particularly Freedom of Information requests and/or Ministry of Finance requests
Oversee and support the team on daily/weekly revenue reporting processes, including daily/weekly revenue reconciliations for all reporting functions; ensure timeliness and accuracy of revenue. Collaborate, as appropriate, with service providers in resolving issues.
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Professional experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting. Experience in IFRS is preferred.
Education: University degree in finance, accounting or commerce. Professional accounting designation – CPA. Knowledge of games/lotteries would be appreciated.
Critical Skills: Excellent relationship management skills. People leadership skills, ability to motivate teams to produce quality documents under tight deadlines and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously. Planning, organizing and prioritizing skills are essential. Analytical/problem solving/risk management skills. Expertise in MS Office and various gaming systems.
