Port of New Orleans launches tender for terminal program management

The $ 1.5 billion Louisiana International Terminal will be a new container facility capable of handling 2 million teu per year and serving the industry’s largest vessels.

The new container terminal is expected to open in 2027 and will require public-private partnerships. Current and potential industrial partners, including terminal operators, carriers and others, have expressed serious interest in possible financial participation in the development of LIT. Port NOLA is developing a full Request for Proposal (RFP) for a development partner and plans to begin the procurement process in the coming months.
